In Kanpur’s Govindnagar police station area, the businessman father of an Air Force Wing Commander committed suicide by jumping in front of a train. He had left home in the morning saying that he was going for a walk. Based on a slip found in his pocket, the police informed the family. The family has not been able to tell the reason for the suicide.
Ashok Kumar Narula (80), a resident of MIG Colony in Ratanlal Nagar, owns a paint shop in Ratanlal Nagar. The family consists of his wife Sheela, daughter Anju and two sons Ajay and Arvind. The elder son Ajay is a Wing Commander in the Air Force in Mumbai. The younger son Arvind is in the construction business in Bareilly. Family members said that Ashok went out for a walk from the house at 7 am on Tuesday as usual. When he did not return till 8 am, they began searching for him. Meanwhile, the police called them and informed them about a body found on the Jhansi railway line in Dabauli. The family members reached there and identified the body. The police took the body and sent it for post-mortem.
